RSS
RSS or Really Simple Syndication, is something a website (or a blog) offers to readers provide a "news feed" of their information. This provides a way for everyone to keep up-to-date with their favorite sites. It works a lot like a stock ticker, providing information from the sites you "subscribe" to, eliminating the need to visit all of your favorite sites everyday. It's a great way to stay current on what's new at UCP!
Who Uses It?
RSS is becoming more popular everyday. Everyone from The New York Times, to MSN, to Yahoo, to your favorite blogger provides RSS feeds you can anonymously subscribe to.How do I use it?
To view RSS feeds you need a newsreader or aggregator. There are many that are available for free. Some are software programs that must be installed, others are available online through a website. Here are a few of the most popular newsreaders:
Windows
Newz Crawler
FeedDemon
Awasu
Mac OS X
Newsfire
NetNewsWire
Web
Bloglines
My Yahoo!

What is Atom?
Atom is a syndication format very similar to RSS. Most users won't notice much of a difference, and most newsreaders will read either.UCP of Central Ohio provides it's content in both formats for you to use.
